New Cloth Wipes- Now Available!

I haven't had cloth wipes listed in my shop in a long time! I thought I'd bring them back... after all they just go well with cloth diapers and are a great way to use up scraps. :)

I've got several sets listed with more to come! You can find them on Etsy HERE or on my website HERE.

Cloth wipes are really great to use for all sorts of things... baby wipes, napkins, cleaning cloths, the list goes on! Wash them with your cloth diapers or just toss them in with your regular laundry after cleaning up those sticky little fingers. ;)

Owl Adult Cloth Diaper

*I am no longer accepting orders for adult cloth diapers. Thank you!

Last month I posted about the new adult cloth diapers I've been working on. I still haven't listed them in my shop but am getting custom requests anyways.

I finished another new custom order this past week. This one has an owl flannel fabric as a decorative outer and white flannel on the inside. I've also made a couple extra pads that will be used for overnight use. They have a layer of zorb on the inside and the owl flannel on the outside. This adult cloth diaper turned out really great!

Custom Cloth Diapers

I finished another set of custom cloth diapers this last week. These diapers feature the candy pink snaps and the radiant turquoise thread.

The possibilities for customization are endless! You can order your own set on my website HERE or on Etsy (Newborn, Small, MediumLarge).

Canning 101: Plum Jam

It's been awhile since I shared a canning recipe! This is a plum jam that I made this fall.

Begin with about 8 cups pitted and peeled plums. Put them in a large saucepan with a half cup water and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and boil gently until the plums are softened, about 5 minutes.

You can crush the plums but I wanted something a little more consistent so I pureed them with my stick blender. This gives you about 6 cups of pulp.

Now add 1 package of (1.75 oz) regular powdered fruit pectin and whisk it in really well. Bring the mixture to a boil over high heat, stirring frequently.

Add 8 cups of granulated sugar all at once and return to a full rolling boil, stirring constantly. Boil hard, stirring constantly, for 1 minute. Remove from heat and skim off foam.

Prepare your jars and lids. See HERE for further information of preparing your jars and lids.

Ladle hot jam into the hot jars, leaving 1/4" headspace. Remove any air bubbles and add more jam, if needed. Clean the rims with a damp towel and put on the lids. Screw band down until finger-tip tight.

Place your jars in a water-canner, making sure they are completely covered with water. Bring to a boil and process for 10 minutes. Remove canner lid. Wait 5 minutes, then remove jars, cool and store.

This recipe is so easy! I hope you give it a try! Happy Canning! :)

Catching Up, a Birthday, & Knit Socks

This is a bit of a random post. The holiday weekend is over and I'm playing catch up. I've got lots of orders to package and ship and several custom orders to work on. Believe me, I'm working as fast as I can!

Lots of good food was eaten on Thanksgiving. Oh man, I feel it! The weather was beautiful and the family and I got out and worked in the yard. We have several big trees and lots of leaves that we raked up and burnt. And my boys spent lots of time cutting, splitting, hauling, and stacking wood for our stove. I think we wore ourselves out.

We celebrated Ian's 11th birthday yesterday. I really can't believe he's a pre-teen already. I made an angel food cake that we ate with strawberries and whip cream. Yum! We did something small for his birthday, instead of a big party he'll have a couple friends over this weekend for an overnight.

I started knitting a new pair of socks awhile ago. I'm the slowest knitter ever but they are coming along. I'm following a pattern in the book "Toe-Up 2-at-a-Time Socks" by Melissa Morgan-Oakes. Knitting 2-at-a-time is definitely my favorite way of creating socks. Anyways, I'm using a dark gray sock yarn. Hopefully I can get the socks along a little further in a week or 2 so I can show them off! Stay tuned. :)

Lots of great info in this book!
