Houndstooth Scarf

Awhile ago I bought a Martha Stewart Knit and Weave Loom Kit but I didn't really do much with it. I recently pulled it out in an attempt at procrastinating on another project and set to work making something. I ended up finding out that it didn't really take too much time to create a woven project! My favorite.... a quick and easy project to do to get my mind off things for a bit.

I created this pretty houndstooth scarf with the loom. Yes, I know, it's the middle of summer! I just couldn't help myself... if I was going to play around then it needed to be something useful. I used 'I Love This Yarn: Mulberry' and 'Caron Simply Soft: Black'. Tada! Something pretty and useful! Want to make your own? Find the pattern HERE!

AHHHH #11 Ruby's Cube

This hexagon was a quick one to sew up! I used 3 colors from my own personal hand dyed fabric collection. I haven't dyed fabric in several years and I really just have scraps left over. These hexagons are just perfect for using up scraps! I can't wait to move on to the #12. :)

Back-to-School Dresses!

These two custom ordered dresses were created for 2 special girls who are headed off to their first day of Kindergarten in a couple weeks! These dresses were really fun to make! I love mixing and matching and coming up with something original like this.

Want one of your own? Doesn't have to be school themed. ;)
The Twirly Dress is $25.00 for labor, fabric is extra.

Zebra Top

This flirty number was made for a clients teenage daughter who loves zebra print. The cotton fabric is comfortable and airy for the hot summer days. I really like this style of shirt, simple lines that can be spiced up with interesting fabric. I hope to make more like it!

AHHHH #10 Pathways

This hexagon had lots of tiny diamonds! For the longest while I just sat & stared at a blank design not knowing where to start or what fabrics to use. I eventually just pulled out a bunch of fabrics and laid them together to decide what might work. Once I picked out some I colored up a sheet for a reference. I'm really having fun with these little projects!

Study Buddy

Ms. Bella has been helping me study lately. Well, kinda... she'd rather I hurry up so we can play!

Classes are going well! I have a couple weeks left of the summer courses then I'll get about 3 weeks off before jumping into fall full time. I'm writing a lot of essays in Art History- something I'm not used to but am doing well at. My College 100 class is a quick and easy class but also requires a lot of writing. Running a business, going to college, kids at home for the summer, husband out of town for 8 weeks... by the end of the day I have no energy left to write a blog post! :)

Eva's Blue Dress

Ms. Eva got another new dress! This one features an overall blue printed fabric with a double layer side apron. The side apron is visual and doesn't come off, however, the ruffled belt does.

AHHHH #9 Starburst

Here's my next AHHHH! The Starburst was fun to put together. The pieces weren't too small and sewing it up went pretty fast. I used 2 different chevrons and some left over print from a customers dress. I don't usually buy fabric special for these but love to pull out my scraps to see what I can come up with.

Bridesmaid Dresses

I'm so happy to finally be sharing this post with you! It's been a long time coming. :) I started these dresses back in April for a good friend who got married a couple weeks ago.

The maid of honors dress is ivory and the other 4 dresses are red. Each dress has a matching black lace overlay and boning in the bodice for support.

They all turned out great and the wedding was just beautiful!
