Pink Flamingo Halter Top

The real reason I bought this pink flamingo fabric was to make a halter top. After I cut it out it just needed a little bag to go with it. The collar detail is probably my favorite part of this top!

I've been working hard at planning and prepping my warm weather wardrobe with rockabilly and vintage style clothing. I just need something to pop and make me smile in my everyday life. :)
This is the first of the tops I completed. I hope to make several more pieces of clothing before it gets warm.

The pattern for this halter top is a vintage reproduction. I purchased it from La Prairie Lady on Etsy. If you purchase this pattern I recommend making a muslin mock up to make sure it fits perfectly and to do a run through of following the instructions before you cut up your good fabric. I had to shorten the torso on my pattern (I'm kinda short!) and readjust the darts a little. There is also an invisible side zipper. I got lots of help on how to do the alterations and zipper from craftsy.com.

Custom Wetbag

Not only do I sew custom cloth diapers and diaper covers but I also create wetbags (or pretty much anything requested).

This customer needed something to carry cloth pads in. She's purchased and admired my work before and was really happy to get this new wetbag. The bag is just to bright and cheery! :)

Pink Flamingo Purse

I'm in love with this bag pattern! I purchased it from Pattern Play. Her patterns are top quality! The Emma Bag was exactly what I needed to showcase this fabric. The fabric came from Hobby Lobby and I purchased enough to make this bag and a halter top. The bag took me a weekend to complete for the first time, which wasn't really too long. I'm looking forward to making another as soon as I can!

If you're interested in purchasing the pattern head on over to Pattern Play for your own copy. If you'd like to purchase a sewn Emma Bag, made by me, for $35 just drop me a line! h.greenhomegoods [at] gmail.com

Custom Cutting Dies

I just wanted a take a second and show off my new custom cutting dies. I use them to cut the microfiber wetjets and sweepers. I originally had a die that cut just a single wetjet or sweeper. The first new one will cut 3 wetjets side by side and the other new one will cut 1 sweeper and 1 wetjet. So much less waste in time and materials! I purchased my cutting dies from www.texascustomdies.com. They were a great company to work with. :)

Hop on over to my youtube channel to see my cutting press in action.

Custom Cloth Diaper and Diaper Set

Here is another custom set I completed for a customer recently. (I haven't shared very many of my completed projects so I'm playing catch-up.)

This set has a mix of different fabrics for the cloth diapers but the diaper cover has guitars all over it. I have more of the guitar covers ready to ship in my shop.

Adult Cloth Diaper and Diaper Cover- Polka Dots

I completed another adult cloth diaper at the beginning of the year. This turned out really well made and the customer said it fits perfectly.

The cloth diaper features a polka dot outer fabric with several layers of soaker material for overnight use.

The diaper cover is a simple white as requested.

The diaper is a size 9XL in my sizing chart which fits roughly a 44" waist. I can continue sizing up if needed. If you're interested in placing an order for an adult sized cloth diaper or cover please email me! h.greenhomegoods {at} gmail.com

Providence Smock Aprons

I had a request recently from a blog follower. She saw my post way back when about an apron I made myself and asked if I could make one for her and a friend. Of course, I did! They picked out some great fabrics and I worked up what they wanted. I had lots of fun making them!

Strawberry Wine: Take 2

It's been about 3 years since we last made a batch of strawberry wine! I can't believe it's been so long. I was just craving it and happened to get a batch of strawberries for free. They were the kind that you 'use or lose now' from a food bank. So I worked them up and let them sit for a couple of months. The end result is some beautifully delicious strawberry wine!

Want to make your own batch? I wrote how to make some in 2010 and the instructions are still the same. Hop on over HERE to check it out!

Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday to ME! Today I'm celebrating the big 3-0. It doesn't even seem real because I still feel the same as I did 5 or 10 years ago. Ok, maybe I have a bit more responsibility these days.

Life is going really well. We've had 5 snow days over the past 6 school days. Both my boys were home and cabin crazy all of last week. I was able to send my older son out the door or to a friends house but my 4 year old really can't do that yet! He's a mama's boy anyways, which is why I hardly get anything done with him around. :)

Other then the snow, my sewing business is great. I still enjoy what I do and probably will for a long time. Things are still growing steadily and there are still so many ideas and products to work on. I'm still really thankful for the 2 excellent seamstress contractors I hired. They make things go so much more smoothly. I can send ready-to-ship sewing off with them while I focus on the more detailed or custom order items. At the rate I'm going I might have to bring on another helper in the next 6 months. I can't do it all myself even if I wanted to.

They hubby is also doing well. He came home from a year long deployment last late-May. The first 6 months of being home can be pretty rocky for some families but I think we managed pretty well! In 2014 we are looking forward to him finishing his enlisted soldier classes and hopefully starting on the officer schooling. This will means weeks and months of him being gone at different military bases/schools around the country but it's nothing we can't handle. Been there, done that- basically.

Anyways, that's just a little update in my life. The 30's are going to be great! I have a great family and business and as I always say... the grass is always greener wherever you water it. ;)
